Hundreds of residents and elected officials voice concerns on proposed cement plant

On Monday, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality reviewed the proposed Black Mountain cement plant application in a public meeting.

Black Mountain Group wants to build a cement plant in Dorchester, but residents and officials oppose.

The public meeting started at 7PM and went on for almost four hours at the Texoma Event Center at Hilton Garden Inn.

It was a packed house with over 500 Grayson county residents and elected officials let it be known that they do not want the Black Mountain cement plant in their backyard. The commission reviewed the plant’s application while hearing the public’s concerns of the proposed 600 acre plant.
